That breaker was twice the size and from looking at my panel I do not know if it would fit behind it or not. I could see it not knowing my luck. I had to buy those slimmer gfci plugs that cost more because the plug boxes in the house are not the regular size or something.

Here are two pics of my panel. I hope this helps. I really do appreciate your help. I just want to do the job correctly. Also would like to be able to be able to tackle this myself if possible just to have the skill set. Not that I am cheap. That panel is pretty maxed out. Maybe there’s a breaker that’s not being used?Toecutter1978 wrote:Here are two pics of my panel. I hope this helps. I really do appreciate your help. Re: Electrical light post question
It looks like you could get a get a tandem 20a Siemens breaker, move the load from 7 to nine, and put a 20a gfci in the 7 space to get what you need. The breakers can be bought easily at Home Depot or Lowe’s for that panel. It might save a couple bucks on the breaker, wire, pipe size if you know the load of the lights and the distance from the panel.

Re: Electrical light post question
If I replaced the existing breaker with one of those gfci breaker combos that should cover me correct? I should then just need to worry about running the wiring that needs to be outside then. You said schedule 40 pvc, like 1/2 size or is there a certain diameter needed?iron369 wrote:It looks like you could get a get a tandem 20a Siemens breaker, move the load from 7 to nine, and put a 20a gfci in the 7 space to get what you need. I put in a ticket in last night on the website. I don’t think I will be working on it in the next week but better to have that done sooner so I don’t have to worry about it later.Dave1965 wrote:You better call the "Call before you Dig" people...811? right

Electrical light post question
So I believe all the companies have finally came out and put out their little flags and marked up my yard. As I figured there is nothing near where I am going to dig.
The blue flags are water I imagine.
Yellow are gas and they are marked as such with lg&e with gas on them.
Electricity is in the air.
Cable is in the air also.
No sewage, we poop like dogs in the fields.

Re: Electrical light post question
They don't mark the sewage. Do you know where it leaves your house? Most the time its makes direct path the street. My line exit on the side of the house make a 90 about 3 inch's out and straight out the road.Toecutter1978 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 11:10 amSo I believe all the companies have finally came out and put out their little flags and marked up my yard. Then follow from the tank to the house. If he is on a slab doesn't know where thing exit that is a problem too.Marcus wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 12:26 pmI bet he's on septic.Dustin wrote:They don't mark the sewage. That could depend on how old the house is.

Re: Electrical light post question
I guess I am. I’ve never lived anywhere with a septic system. But I have dug up many sewer lines. As long as a shovel is digging the ditch and not a trencher or pick axe, it’s pretty much a nonexistent issue. A pick axe WILL put a hole in old terracotta sewer lines though. Just take my word for it.plumber_bob wrote:I am not so stupid that I can't figure the basics.

Marcus is correct, I have a septic tank. It is out back and doing ok.Dustin wrote:They don't mark the sewage. Do you know where it leaves your house? Most the time its makes direct path the street. Re: Electrical light post question
It’s crazy how they used wood for sewage lines. The Romans made sewers out of brick. It is like technology went backwards, then again it did.iron369 wrote:I guess I am. Re: Electrical light post question
Ok, so I was thinking, and this is going to just add to the cost of the the project.
If I would add another post down the driveway to light it up more would that look weird? Two lights on one side?
I would just dig straight down the yard from the post laying the conduit to the next post correct?
Inside the first post would be some sort of split of junction, or would that be in the ground?
I have one of those Power Planters for bulbs and plants that I love and I am going to get their larger version to make digging the trench so much easier. So I will just let the drill do the work.
