If you use PayPal, check your bank account!

Post by kokopelli » Sat Mar 02, 2019 12:57 pm

Scumbag thieves drained my checking account $30 at a time, over and over using PayPal linked to my account.
The transactions don't even show up on my PayPal account. I closed the PayPal account and won't ever open a new one, either. It looks like it's someone from California, or at least that's where the account is the money went.

How did they manage that without it showing up? How did you figure it out?

I've heard enough bad stories to never trust paypal.
I cringe when I even think of it.

I had a decent bill at the vet for my pooch, so I went online to check my balance, and it was down to under $100 which I knew wasn’t right since I had gotten paid two days earlier...So I saw a $30 charge to a ‘PayPal account balance’ earlier in the day which I knew was wrong, started scrolling through the account and it was $30 transactions over and over; this was on Saturday, so while I’m calling 5/3 they’re still coming through. I get the card shut off but they got $520 bucks.

I googled PayPal fraudulent activity and there are days of reading on it. My PayPal got closed. I only used it for buying stuff on eBay anyway.

I've been using Paypal for a long time. I purchase everything online through Paypal and every time something has gone wrong with a purchase, I've been reimbursed. I wonder how they got the login info, to do that. That sucks man.
A cop stopped me on the street and said "we're looking for a mugger who fits your description" , so I said "okay I'll do it".

If PayPal doesn’t show any record of it, they didnt go though PayPal. They stole your bank info and made drafts posing as PayPal. Why in the world did your bank not flag it? More than two identical transactions and mine gets automatically locked.
