FFL and out of state transfer questions

Post by Rescue9 » Tue Feb 05, 2019 12:20 pm

I've had some interest from someone in Indiana for the rifle I'm selling. In all honesty, the email seems like a scam though with "ship the items", and "add $50 to a certified check", and "I'll arrange to have someone pick it up at a later date if you don't want to ship" type phrases. In short, I'm not shipping, and cash is king. Period.

If it is legit though and he agrees to meet at an FFL for transfer, can I take my rifle to Indiana and have a FFL do the transfer there? I'm not up on out of state transfer laws, is there anything else I need to know?

Thanks guys!

Yep. Scam.
I had a guy email me for the Mosin on Armslist, even provided an ffl to ship to, said they would mail a cashiers check. Then the next email was”I’m adding extra money and can make arrangements for the remainder....”

The other scam is to get you to mail it to a fake ffl. So if you ship check the ffl on the atf website.
