Help me! You geeky ninjas! PC buying
Ok folks, im sorry I have been absent for some time, I would like to tell you that will change but truth is poping my head in from time to time is probably as good as its going to get. Though when one seeks trustworthy reliable advice he knows where to turn so here I am.
I have enrolled in a bible collage seeking my BA in pastoral ministry. What can I say? The Lord work in amazing ways. I have received a scholarship for the first year, books and all. Its a blessing because we are still funding my wife's fight against cancer ( insane costs) that has left us pretty tight budget wise.
I must get a new laptop. My current laptop is so old it dose not even have wifi, you got to plug the thing in to get online. I will just say that it is not going to make it.
So....
I need a laptop thats compact, it wilk be making trips with me constantly. I will be taking notes with it as well as running some sort of word and logos software. So the smaller the better while still maininging a keyboard you can type on.
The keyboard needs to have backlighting
Storage is not a real big issue as I have a large cloud
I dont really store lots of music or anything
I have no brand loyalty
It has got to be as cheap as possible to get me through the next few years. So it needs to be cheap but not at the expense of being junk in a year.
I dont want to educate myself on laptops and all the jibs and jabs of them, just tell me what to get.
If you coukd link me to Amazon products so I can just buy it off of there I woukd be greatful.
Thank you fine folks .

Based upon your use, I'd recommend the following.
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GV62-8RD-200 ... 9647497011
These specs fall within the specs listed in Logos' paragraphs. I'm thinking that the specs at the top are optimum specs. My son has basically the same machine and he games on his with no problems; COD4 (medium settings), Fortnite, Minecraft, PubG, and Ark. Don't let the fact that it's MSI and not Samsung or something fool you. I've had 4 MSI computers in the past 12 years and every single one of them has been outstanding.
MSI is the premiere brand of motherboards and videocards going. They are typically the first manufacturer with the best parts. Couple years ago I bought my latest MSI Titan. It was indeed the fastest thing going at the time for about 7 months until Orion an Asus matched it.
The other good thing with MSI is that unlike other makers, they actually let you open your laptop and work on it without voiding the warranty. If you find you need more ram, pick up another stick on amazon and install it yourself. There is a sticker on the back that says warranty void if removed, but I've had techs tell me over the phone to disregard it as that's what they do when a repair comes in. I've upgraded each of mine at various times.
I guarantee you, that you won't have problems with this laptop. If for some reason you do, let me know and I'll personally help you install extra components or work through a return for you.

Honestly...I'm going to agree with Rescue9. I came to say get an HP Omen laptop and you'll have a laptop capable of nearly any task you throw at it but the MSI is going to perform in the same range with a slight edge on the budget. I'll link the Omen just in case you want to take a look. They come at different prices for different spec ratings but this is right in line with what I bought for myself. I have two, one at work and one at home and both are a year old. I'm completely happy with mine but I've got plenty of friends and family with the MSI who are also thoroughly pleased. Either way, you're winning man. Good luck!

A cop stopped me on the street and said "we're looking for a mugger who fits your description" , so I said "okay I'll do it".

I bought an MSI a few months ago and it would definitely be my recommendation. I bought it to learn programming and it has been a very good laptop so far.

You guys aren’t using MacBooks for what they were intended for.
Media production... They are the best hands down. It’s not a coincidence that all major studios (and most amateur studios) have MacBooks at the helm.

That's what I bought my daughter for college. I don't care for them but it's what she needed.1fastmach1 wrote:You guys aren’t using MacBooks for what they were intended for.
