Another shop closing?

I heard that 111 may be closing??? I have wondered about this two month long audit. Then they were closed last week and now again today. They have not been willing or able to order any new guns. I also heard they are not even buying used guns and referring folks to other shops. Anyone have the real story?

Seems like the market is really slow. Pawn shop that I go to said they set up for two days at Cave City Show and only sold 2 guns.

Damn, I hope they don’t close. I heard they couldn’t order anymore guns until the audit was concluded.

I get it, but enough to not allow you to run your business?

This is a government agency we are talking about. When you think government are efficiency or concern about small business things that typically come to mind? Lol

I wondered about this the last time I was in there. They had a lot of consignment guns. I was going to talk to them about a trade this weekend but didn't get over there since they had been reported as not open for business. Heard some very interesting discussions between the workers and the staff last time. Oh and the cool staffer with a drop leg holster :).

The cave city show puts itself on a tough weekend and they count on the Fudd Gunners to operate. They picked the Mt. Sterling /Preston event which always has tons of the dealers usually at Cave City, plus it is the same weekend as Knob Creek so most people will be going to those two. Given the down turn in the gun economy right now, I wouldn't doubt only a two gun sale for anyone there.

Who said they may be closing? Or if not a source, what was their wording of it?

seems to be all speculation but I guess it could be lender audit if they have a large line of credit out...which I would imagine they do...course again its all just What If/Could be situation.

Ok got it from 111 they are stuck in an atf audit. Nothing with serial number in or out till it’s over. They are not going anywhere.

Got this straight from Misty.

Any idea as to when they may open again?

That is very interesting. I use to work for a guy who owns a store in Nashville area and was a principal owner in the effort of the ATF to reduce sales at gun shows. He use to travel all over to gun shows and sell in other states and deliver at those shows (back before they ruled against it). Then the ATF cut the cords to that and cancelled his FFL without warning. He got a lawyer and they contacted the ATF and filed suit in the court system and the ATF had to issue a letter to continue operations until all was resolved.

They couldn't cut kill his license and cut the license until all was resolved. Basically they were forcing him out by taking away his right to continue his business. Seems like the same with this situation. An audit where you can't continue your normal business? Seems unusual to me...but I am no lawyer. Just stayed at a holiday inn once.

Dave is right , a audit is checking current inventory and the A/D book. A week or two at the most.
If usually is using a list supplied by FFL to IOI and them checking the book. They may make a actual count or not.
And they check a years worth of 4473's for Dotted Is and crossed Ts.

A month long is they are looking for missing inventory or tracking each A/D. entry.

Food for thought
Anyone remember Mayor Fischer saying he was going to do something about guns in the city?
Since then.
Lotus closed (but they were already had one foot the grave I will admit)
Shooters stopped selling guns
And now this with 111.
Fischer using his political connections to try to close down the biggest gun shops in the county?
