Vista will apparently keep other firearm-related brands such as Bushnell, Weaver, BLACKHAWK!, RCBS, Uncle Mike’s, Hoppe’s and Outer’s.

CBS wants you to think it has to do with Parkland. They drop this right in the middle of their article

BTW: Notice the wording "a mass shooting at a Florida high school killed 17" in the CBS quote?
It's always "killed by guns" or "gun violence" They almost always word it in such a way as to take the person responsible out of the equation. In this case "a mass shooting killed 17 people" when it should be "a mass shooter killed 17 people".
