Cameras
Wife is looking for a good camera to use for her furniture staging and other pictures. I have no idea about anything in the camera world. She has her eye on a Nikon D3000. Are they any good? What would you all recommend? No bank breaking lol.

Re: Cameras
My opinion... If you're going to spend that much for the D 3000, the D 3400 is about the same price with twice the megapixels (clearer photos) and has built in Wi-Fi connectivity. You think Wi-Fi doesn't matter until you transfer photos to your phone or pc the first time without even pulling the memory card out. That's a feature I love. Not having to lug my computer out in the field, or waiting until I'm home at the computer to upload to social media or whatever.
Plus the D 3400 records 1080p video with continued autofocus. I don't think the 3100 even records video at all. My opinion is go with the 3400 and have all your dreams come true. Lol okay that's a bit extreme. Just get the 3400 and never find yourself wishing for something more. Trust me.

A cop stopped me on the street and said "we're looking for a mugger who fits your description" , so I said "okay I'll do it".

Re: Cameras
I own the Nikon D 3400, and cannot sing enough praise for it. The price is really good for what you get. It's better than the "pro" cameras that uofL has for their media center. The wifi option makes taking pics easy when you have to make a bunch of corrections in a scene.

Re: Cameras
I know I paid that price for my D3400 with two lenses at Murphy's camera. Came with a Sd card, bag, and battery with charger.
One thing about the Nikon is getting spare batteries. You can purchase 3rd party ones, but I had bad luck with one I purchased. Never had an issue with the Nikon batteries.

Re: Cameras
If you want, she can borrow my D3400 for a bit and see if she likes it. Better to mess with one for a few days and get a feel for the camera before making a major purchase.

B&H photo and video has the D3400 for $396 with an 18-55 mm lens and sd card. Jump on that! Lol
Edit: I have an 18-55 kit lens and it's probably the most versatile lens until you start needing some long distance shots. In that case, Rem700 you're welcome to try out my 18-70 lens, my dedicated 50 mm photography lens and my 70-300 mm zoom lens.
