Anyone near Shelbyville or Louisville who does wood work?

I'm assembling a blueprinted speaker box. I have already cut my MDF board to all the sizes that I need.

I COULD cut the speaker holes out with a jigsaw but I'd prefer they were perfect circles (think with a router). I can do the same (use a jigsaw) for the rectangular port hole but I'd prefer that cut to be super clean also. Does anyone have the capabilities to cut 7 1/4" holes with a fair amount of precision? I don't want to buy a router circle jig just to cut a few holes.

I'm willing to pay. Would like to travel no further than Louisville from Shelbyville. Just let me know if someone could do this maybe this weekend.

I don't know if that's something Tim would be interested in, but Gunsmokin does some really great things with wood.

I have a rotozip and hole jig that would probably get the job done ... what size do the holes need to be?

edit: ... Oops ... guess I better re-read the original message ...
7 1/4" eh? ... No problem.

I got the sides put on today and the internal bracing done. Tomorrow I will put the back on. Then I will put some 45° angles in all of the corners and seal all the corners with more wood glue kind of like caulk.

This is the old box with two subs in it, sitting next to the new box. I still have to add wire terminals, maybe paint the box and of course transfer the two subs out of the old box.

So you're one of those that will rattle your car apart to satisfy the need to thump your jam?

Let me guess: you like rap "music"?

Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

Just do everybody a favor, put some rubber behind your license plate to stop the annoying rattle.

I like to think of myself as "the type" fascinated with the science of electricity converted to sound...enjoying both, the technical aspects of car audio and its various capabilities (extreme and non) and the sheer awesomeness and fun seeing peoples reactions when you demo your rig for them. In short I'm a nerd for car audio

As far as rap music. Yes i like it. I also like Ozzy and Pink Floyd and George Jones and Adele and Bach and Beethoven, and Reba and Fleetwood Mac and Aerosmith and Rolling Stones and Buddy Guy and The Eagles and Stevie Ray Vaughn and Joe Bonamossa and i could go on all day.

Don't get the wrong idea, I wasn't being critical. Nay, more admiring, I would say. I understand the need for good thumping jam, but have seen too many cars literally shaken apart by poorly installed and engineered systems.

Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

That's a serious box. I built a couple of little ones in an afternoon in my parents backyard many years ago for the grand am. Didn't want to lose use of my trunk or access to the spare in the middle. Heavy enough to stay in place, but I could pull them out when I autocrossed. They did pretty good. Miss having subs.

This system will be loud enough to shake the car apart in due time, yes. However, I'm not intending to play it at full tilt daily. In fact I'm not even one of those asses who torments residential areas with my music. I tend to keep it down unless in more commercial areas, highways etc. or when a listener volunteers to check it out and/or the occasional YouTube video. I keep hearing protection in the car with me for those people who volunteer and I even wear some myself. The vibration definitely comes the an expense of potential damages to a vehicle but...it's a calculated risk I guess. At least I'm not spending it all on hookers and blow. Haha. Right?
