Purchasing out of state

Post by Smithengineered » Tue Jul 29, 2014 7:36 pm

I've been looking at purchasing something full auto for a while now. Spending this kind of money on a firearm that is out of state from someone I don't know makes me a little uneasy. If I send the seller the money and don't receive the firearm is there something that I can do? The gun is currently on a Form 3 so I have requested a copy of his SOT/FFL just so I know he is legit. Any insight would be good.

Thanks

You need a class 3 dealer to go through here in Ky.

PM Rext. even if you don't go through him, he will walk you through everything you need to know. Plus he may have what you want for less.

1-877-560-2435 ATF number that was on page for help.
Not sure if this is for FFLs only or for the public as well

Thanks! It's a no go for me either. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Just got another red flag. After telling him that I will send him a Bank Certified Check or Money Order he said that he will only accept Paypal or Bank transfer only.....

Exactly! I've already sent a email to the ATF and will call them tomorrow if I have not heard anything back by the time I get up. What got me is he actually gave me his phone number to talk to him about the gun.

I sent you a few pm's last night. Another thing to do is proof of life. Your email address on a piece of paper in the picture. Or on the form4/3 as well.

Or,,, who can forget the incident with "iceman" on the other site just for laughs! Somebody has to dig that up again

For some reason I did not get your PM's Rex. That is a good idea about proof of life though. I'm now interested in this Iceman incident.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.
