Recommend me a laptop for under $350

Need a new laptop. Something used for mainly internet playing. Would like to have decent battery life and possibly backlit keyboard. Windows I guess would be good. Not sure what else is important. Right now walmart seems to be the best options.

Win 7 or Win 8?

Well if it's new, your gonna be hard pressed to find anything that doesn't have windows 8. Windows 7 has went by the wayside. You mentioned something used, it's gonna have shit battery life.

In a retail store yes W8 is about all you'll find, but order off some place like Newegg.com and buying a NIB win 7 notebook is no problem. I'm typing on a brand new Win 7 notebook right now. Dell, Acer, Lenovo and others are still pumping out w7 machines.

He mentioned Walmart so yeah. That's why I made that comment. Newegg is pretty good. I got the parts for several of my desktops and my current server there. Awesome place to do business. I actually had gotten a VGA card that was DOA. They replaced it with no questions asked. Great company.

Plus many w8 machines have a downgrade license.

Acer has served me well for many years and HP has not failed me yet but it's only been a year. Go acer I guess is my opinion.
