Wearing the flag as clothing

Post by Shineybore » Wed May 16, 2012 3:18 am

What do you guys and gals think about wearing the flag as clothing? What brings this up is I got a new Bass Pro flyer in the mail today and seen some guy riding go-carts with a U.S flag shirt on. Of course Bass Pro is selling the shirts.
I personally will never wear anything like that, for me it's about respect for our flag and our country.
I guess the olden days are over and a new era has arrived. It seems as if it's not taken as serious as it used too.

What's your thoughts and feelings?

Personally I always liked American flag bikinis on swimsuit models.

Wearing the flag as clothing

I don't think its an issue because it isn't like the shirt is made from fabric that used to be a flag. I'd take more issue with bass pro using the flag as a way to make money but that's kind of a stretch. They probably just see a demand for that sort of thing so they offer it.

I'm just happy to see people showing some sort of Patriotism... like justang1997 said, it's not like they are taking American flags and cutting them up to make these shirts, bikinis, and ect.

I have a hat with a flag on it, not the whole hat, just a patch on it, I love showing my patriotism, but I think it should be illegal for an article of clothing to be to look as if a flag was torn apart to make it, my father has the exact shirt you speak of and I will not go in opublic with him if he is wearing it

Wearing the flag as clothing

When I hear "the flag should not be work as clothing" I think more of taking an actual flag and draping it over yourself. I've heard people on the left try to use this as justification for Obama not wearing a flag lapel pin, that he's actually following the rules more by doing so. I say BS...a lapel pin is not "wearing the flag as clothing"

I'm under the impression that it is actually taking a flag and wearing it as clothing. Similar to what the olympic runners do after they win a race and drape the flag over their back like a cape. Although during this time, it is extremely patriotic.

I wasn't referring to flag patches or lapel pins. Just a shirt made to look like the American flag. Here is an example.

Hopefully that works, I'm on my phone.

Those shirts are as cool as Rich's gunsmoke truck on American Guns. I can see him hopping out in that shirt with a gold bar in his pocket and silver bars in his hand.
LMAO

drunkenly draping the flag around you like a cape or toga ABSOLUTLY NOT (had a pledge do this and lets just say he learned)
"But now," he said, "take your money and a traveler's bag. And if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one" -Jesus (Luke 22:36 NLT)
