Must request day off, and hope that we don't get sequestered. No money will equal a boring opening day at cabelas.

Be prepared to wait for everything gun related. You have to stand in a cue and wait for the next available counter person to look at new guns. The used racks are self service but 3-4 deep to look at a gun. The gun library is mostly behind glass so it's museum type viewing, but holy crap do they have nice guns. Like this;
Check out price tag;
Oh, how so high they fly........ only further to fall.

Re: Cabela's?
I was there last nite around 5pm or so. The store was packed and the shelves were not bad as far as ammo goes. The still had 20 rd boxes of 223, 50 rd boxes of 45, 40 and 38sp. 9MM shelf was bare! I did pick up some CCI and Remington primers, IMR powder, 45 bullets, Magpul CTR stock and numerous other items.
I was told ( had heard about it on facebook as well ) about a particular gun shop that came there on Tuesday nite and loaded up on 223 bulk packs. They apparently came with about 20 people to get by the 1 case limit. The gentleman I was talking too couldn't believe that I already knew about this. I even mentioned the shop to him and he just started stuttering. LOL! He said that they have A LOT of ammo in the back, but if they put it all out at once, there would be none left for the other days of the grand opening. I can believe it by what I saw being carted around the store.
As one of the previous posters stated, if you are looking for guns ( they had a lot of them as well ) you will stand in line for quite a while.
I may go back on Friday, just to see if I can get some 223.. but definitely going to Knob Creek first..
Good luck..

I would like to know which store did this too. Since the panic, the places that I will do business has shrunk and I will add them to the list. PM me if you don't want to say in open post.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Re: Cabela's?
Looks like TG&G bought the ammo as a donation according to their facebook page, there is a pretty lengthy post going on over there about it..

Re: Cabela's?
I'm guessing the attack post was deleted or the user banned but here is a response that is on there:
Tony Hagan.... First of all allow me to state that I am appalled by the statements and allegations that you have posted here. TG@G, their ownership as well as employees are the single largest sponsor of the Greater Louisville Friends of NRA program... The ammunition which you have referred to in your allegations was purchased by the staff and ownership of TG&G as a donation to the Greater Louisville Friends of NRA program. Perhaps you would be well advised to have all of your facts confirmed prior to publicly making a fool of yourself. I will personally be in contact with the store GM as well as Cabela's Corporate, one of our National Corporate Sponsors, tomorrow morning to discuss with them your allegations as well as their legal ramifications. Mr. Hagan, businesses are profit driven. The profits of a business are utilized to run and maintain their facilities overhead, provide a livelihood for their staff and investors and if out of the goodness of their hearts there is someway that they can provide charitable service to the community it should be accepted and applauded by the citizenry. The ownership of TG&G will likely be displeased by my response to your slanderous statements as they are very private regarding their charitable contributions. It kind of bugs me when an attack like this is levied by an uninformed source who touts, patting himself on the back for buying three boxes of 22lr for the BSA while TG@G has donated thousands of dollars both monetarily and in services to both our and other programs in this community. Mr. Hagan, I certainly do not begrudge your donation to the BSA and thank you as a former Eagle Scout for your thoughtfulness. Perhaps if your business was more profit driven you would be in a position to make donations to better our community to match those of TG&G and its staff.
