Ahother WWII veteran passes

Post by kyswede » Thu Feb 28, 2013 2:49 pm

I am saddened to report that Thomas Griffin passed away on Tues. Feb. 26.
He was the navigator in the 9th plane of Doolittle's Raid on Tokyo in 1942.
I had the privilege of meeting him and having my picture taken with him and another B-25 pilot
back in Dec. 2007 at the Warbirds Museum just east of Cincinnati, OH.
Tom is on my right wearing the black jacket. The gentleman on my left flew B-25s over the hump (Burma) during WWII. I will post his name later when I get home.

The gentleman on my left (white jacket) is Dick Pandorf. He flew 48 missions in th India/ Burma. theater.
Picture was taken at the Tri-State.Warbird Museum. Both men have signed the B-25 in the background.

Today someone brought in an old mouser that his grandfather picked up during WWll.

Still has his name engraved in it and his address when he mailed it home. Thought it was pretty cool.
