Not putting down any KAC member who might know this guy or have the same MOS.

... SMFH... Silly Cav Scouts... You're not just like infantry, you're damn sure NOT like group or bat.

You're a fu@king 19D that's it! Take some pride in your MOS and quit trying to act like a bunch of hard asses lmfao

19D is a small community and I do not know him. In the past few years there have been a lot of re-classes that come into this MOS. While they don't have the true Scout mentality from my young soldier days (pre-2001), they do bring an additional skill with them. As for the guy you posted about, yeah, a bit misguided on what we actually do and needs to be punched in the face for saying that shit, which I am pretty damn sure once he gets to a scout platoon in a line unit, they will set him straight. Scouts vs Infantry has been around since the Army and how is better than who. Different units, different places, different mindsets. I know one thing, is when we work together, not much can defeat, destroy, or even come close to our power lol

and I see this turned into a 19D pic thread

Never been lost. be temporarily mis-oriented on one or ten occasions.

Never so happy to see a tank unit as I was somewhere in the middle of the Iraqi desert where my map looked like one big brown paper bag and my doppler shit the bed.

Tank meant gas, and we needed gas.

Never been infantry. Would have been proud to be, but I chose a different path. I don't lie about what I did to make it more glamorous. If he is going to be a scout, own that and be proud. If he want to be a freakin' cook, own it and be proud. Infantry has to move, eat and sometimes put on a parachute and jump out of a perfectly good airplane. They can't do that alone.

Even as good as the guys in BAT and Group are they need their support. Ain't nothing to be ashamed of.

Speaking as someone who has proudly worn the EIB, Stetson and spurs, and the Order of Saint Barbara...

The only *real* difference in these MOSs is their branch insignia. No branch has the market cornered on morons. ;-)

Chopperdoc: I think you said it best, take your MOS and own it. Each MOS does something that contributes to the piece of the pie. No one MOS is designed the the job of any other one.

I can confirm that. Found a 13B lost IN HIS OWN BARRACKS at Ft. Sill while I was at AIT. Full disclosure: 13F here.

Haha!!! As a fellow spurs this makes me laugh every time it comes up. The best arguments are always over who's buying the next round or who's back hurts worse due to humping around a large co$&. I've had to spend most of my career mystifying personal. ;-)
