Best Way to Secure Sights

Most of the torture tests I've seen on Glock pistols result in the same thing: one or both of the sights fall off. What kind of material would you use to keep the sights on your pistol and survive being thrown around? Do you usually replace the factory sights altogether?

Replace the factory plastic sights is your best bet.

This and use blue lock-tite.

I'm of the opinion (and I'm definitely in the minority) that there's nothing wrong with the *current* Glock factory sights. There was a problem with the old staked front sights, but the new ones have a screw, just like the steel versions. You could make the argument that the plastic sights are less likely to come off, since their lower mass results in lower shear forces.

With all that said, the plastic sights are prone to wear from abrasion and dings from impact. As a result, I usually replace the front with a steel sight (either the Glock steel sight or Ameriglos--secured with blue Loctite), but I typically leave the plastic rear alone.

Just my two cents.

I usually replace plastic sights OEM with night sights of whatever I am into at the time or Heinie metal target sights with blue loc tite.
