Gen 1 resale?

Post by dbh » Tue Oct 30, 2012 3:14 pm

I have Gen 1 G23 & G27. Both are perfect shape and have less than 500 rounds thru them. Within the last year I put on TFO's, Talon Grips and 3.5 lb triggers. I really want to get rid of them and keep all my autos 9mm but am afraid that I can't get anywhere near what I should out of them. Is there a place (website?) where some Glock collectors might be interested in them? Because they are not stock anymore does that lower their value to a collector? Would I need to put them back to stock?

TIA

I've never heard of gen 1 23 or 27. Are you sure these are not gen 2?

You may be correct. I will try to verify via serial number or paperwork if I can find it. I am pretty sure I bought them around 1990.

I believe you are correct.

From a wiki site:
Second generation models

A mid-life upgrade to the Glock pistols involved the addition of checkering on the front strap and serrations to the back strap. These versions were introduced in 1988 and are informally referred to as "second generation" models. To meet American ATF regulations, a steel plate with a stamped serial number was embedded into the receiver in front of the trigger guard.

They have the steel plate with serial number.

Cool pics. I'm sure somebody is a collector of them but they would want them original surely so be careful about gouging it if you put them back to stock.

I got a lone wolf conversion (9mm) barrel for it and decided to keep it. Thanks for your interest.

I have decided to keep it. I have quite a bit in it and probably couldn't come close to recouping my $$.
