I used a piece os red cellophane that I got on a roll at target. Doubled it over and clipped it to one of my soft boxes. Cheap, DIY gel...lol

You're welcome to try mine out anytime. Honestly the ONLY issue I have with these guns is the trigger reset. After reset there is some creep before it breaks again. Uncalled for IMO. Never had that with a Glock.

I have only shot a few glocks and they are fine, but i love the form and function of my XDm....i would guess you will not be disappointed at all with an xd or xdm. My only complaint about my xdm is that the sights have dulled quit a bit in the 2 years i have had it....this is why im looking into Trijicon HD sights for it.

I have never noticed that with mine, but since my ccdw class i have tried to work much more on my mechanics and next time im at the range i will try and remember to think about the trigger reset so i can see for my self.

Do they make a trigger kit for these? Never looked into it myself

There are trigger kits. I've read that they help by something in the design makes it impossible to eliminate. You can try it at home. Empty the gun and dry fire it. Keep the trigger to the rear and rack the slide. Slowly let the trigger out until you feel/hear the reset click and stop. Ideally you should be right at the break to fire again, but instead there is about 1/8" or so of slop first before the break.

Good ammo choice.
Gotta few boxes of that layin around myself.

Question for the XDM lovers.
How does it compare to the regular XD? ( I'm a Glock guy but my buddy is thinking about replacing his stolen XD with a XDM)

I have shot a few xd's as well and they really arent much different IMO. Function is about the same, i would just say its a bit more accurate due to the match grade barrel. O and i like the grip and slightly different look of the xdm better.

Never shot a regular XD. From what I know aside from the match grade barrel and a few internal changes (mags are not compatible between the two) the rest is mostly aesthetic / texture differences. I personally like the look of the XDm much better than the XD

The 3.8 compact has a little longer barrel/slide than a G26, but the grip is only a tiny bit longer. Still can't really get a full pinky on it. 13+1 with the flush for mag and 19 rounds in the spares, with the grip extenders it gives you a full size grip. I carry with the flush mag in it and at night I toss in a full size mag and slap on the TLR-1 for a nightstand gun with 20 rounds on tap

Man that compact looks to be about the size of my xd-9 service. My only gripe with the xd is the front sight is dull as rem700 said about his xdm.

my front site seems fine...plan on putting night sites on them at some point.

One annoying thing I have discovered...if you put a full mag in the gun, the bullets rattle like a baby toy. strip one round out of it and its fine, but I always top off the mag when carrying.

I have an aftermarket 18 rounder for the xd and it does the same thing. I keep it loaded light with 17+1 because it bugs me. I carry a spare anyways so oh, well.

I'll probably stop topping off my mags because of it....sucks, but its annoying. Really noticed it chasing the frisbee around outside tonight..lol

The mags on my sig229 do it too but I bang em on my palm and it seats the bullets or something and it stops for a while.

the bullets are tight in the mag when its out of the gun. but when you insert it they get pushed down just a bit and it loosens everything up. you can shake the pistol and its like a baby rattle
