I have the 19,17, and 34. The 34 is my favorite. Either one should work for you.

I have been doing IDPA at Wilmore and Silvercreek
Silver Creek is close...I need to try it out, I've been wanting to give idpa a shot. What would you recommend beyond a gun, holster, mags & holder, ammo and ppe?

Bring a lunch and water
Gun
3 mags
200 rounds of ammo
mag carrier
Concealment vest if you have it. You can use your shirt but is slower.
Eye and Ear protection

That's about it.

I'll be shooting here locally in northern ky in Crittenden at a club. We'll see how it goes and if it's going well I'll start branching out further. It's hard to get the time to drive too far right now.
