Grip Force Beavertail adapter for Glock...anybody using?

Post by BK Meyers » Sat Feb 22, 2014 4:11 pm

Wondering if anyone is using (and pleased) with the Grip Force Beavertail adapter for Glock pistols??

http://gripforceproducts.com/Home.php

I seem to remember a photo from DDGunslinger where it looked like he had one on his G17 hybrid. I'm considering picking up a pair off of Ebay but would like to read some user feedback before buying.

Thanks,
BK

I liked the one on the G34 I had. It flattened out the big hump in back of the grip on the full size Glocks that I hate. Only problem I had was it made the grip to large for my hands.

On Ebay they are going for approx. $22/pr or so. Not a huge cost to experiment but at the same time it's $22+ that may end up sitting in a box.

What do you not like about them??

Why are you considering getting one?

The folks I know who praise them have very beefy hands and occasionally get slide bite. I guess they could also be an aid to those for whom Glocks tend to point naturally high.

I, for one, never saw the need for such a thing. But I also don't use any of the backstraps on Gen4 Glocks.

Have a Gen3 G19. Thinking they may help with consistency in grip placement when drawing from a holster. Slide bite has not been an issue but could see how the piece could help prevent it. Also an experiment to see if there is any perceived improvement to the feel of the factory grip.

It isn't that I don't like them. I'm just comfortable with Glocks as is.

Best thing I have had done to my Glocks is undercutting the trigger guard ( or should I say, having Slo-Vo do it )

I like the small one they send. I am actually buying a gen4 g19 this week and wil be using one of the beavertails. Will prolly undercut the grip a little too.

I bought them awhile back because the slide was rubbing the top of my hand. I started with the large ribbed one but changed to the small smooth one because it doesn't go down the back strap as far making the grip smaller. I like the feel and it takes the worry about the slide hitting my hand away.

I bought a set. they just arrived tonight. having a bit of trouble getting them on. if I wasn't lazy I'd go down stairs and dig out some clamps. I cant get the damn holes to stay aligned by hand long enough to smack the pin all the way thru. definetly a snug fit. feels good in the hand

I was able to push the factory pin out with the new pin. Was really surprised. Did not require much force at all, simply pushed the factory unit thru the handgrip using the pin supplied in the kit. Did this with both a G19 and a G23.

Did you try installing the supplied pin and then installing the beavertail?? Once the new pin was installed I mounted the left tab of the beavertail on to the left side of the pin and then "rolled/pushed" the right side into place. Snapped into place with and is secure.
