Is it a smaller grip? Never thought about that. I'll see if I can find one to hold and see what I think of it. I basically thought a Glock was a Glock grip wise. I go think the G19/G23 feel slightly better than the full size Glocks. I don't like the big arch in the back of the grip from the middle to the bottom on the G17/G34 gen3 grips.

Invite him to join and then let him read your comments? Doubt I'll do that. The only thing I did was point out that he does great work on Glocks and point out his website so Niceguyr6 could make a well thought through choice. Not pushing him towards M1F.

The Glocks of M1F are regarded as one of the best within the 3Gun community, as are the ones from ZEV and some others. I have seen many Glocks that were molested by so called gun smiths. M1F does nice work to them. I thought him being in KY would make a difference, nothing more. If the planning is to not do anything to the frame or slide itself, just do it yourself. Swapping out parts is not something you need a gun smith for. If I can do it, anybody can.

So be it
It is what it is
Fine I will leave it to Livewire to make the call.
If he choices to delete my comments or not , I will invite the M1 Firearms here myself.

BTY I just pointed out that I thought that GD was a better smith , not that M1 was a bad smith.
And I have seen and handle both of their work.

Nothing is getting deleted. Ulwembu has good experience with M1F. Guncrank and many others on here have had good experiences with gundoc. I'm sure there are other great companies that specialize in glocks an can do the work niceguy is looking for.

Ease up everybody. Merry Christmas. Peace on earth. Good will towards men.

This...^^^^

I'll definitely check them all out. I appreciate everyones advice. Have spoken to and had a deal or two with Gundoc a few times and will probably use him for some work whenever he is up to it. Been looking at M1 site and may use them for some slide work down the road. Very cool stuff that looks like fantastic work. I love that they are here in the good ole Kentucky too. I always like learning something new and never heard of them before. Thanks again to everyone for their advice. Merry Christmas and peace my brothas! haha

Mod1 work looks great. I haven't seen it in person yet. I have seen what gundoc can do with a glock trigger and it's impressive. Doubt you could go wrong either way

I think I saw one at Glaubers up here a few weeks back. You could probably decide what you were going to do off a gen 4 , 17 as well , same grip size. You will have to get them to let you change the backstraps around and see if that will work for ya but thats all inside the realm of a good salesman.

MOD1 is the go to name in Glock mods, they do great work!

I dont know about locals but by all means im sure they are capable of doing the same work, maybe without the wait.

Cool, I'll look for a Gen4 G17 also. I'm sure that will be much easier to find. I may hit Glabbers Fri. I've never been there and been meaning to check it out for a while. I'm not far from Carrolton.

I got to fondle a gen4 G17 today at Glaubers and what a night and day difference in the gen3 and gen4 grips! Still has that f'ed up Glock grip angle though. I think I need to sell the gen3 and pick up a gen4. I couldn't find anyone that had a gen4 G34 in stock today though but I guess it should feel just like the G17. The texture was considerably better than the gen3's also. I could actually see me liking one of these. KILL's me to think I'll probably drop $625+ on a f'ing Glock though...haha

Also, Glaubers in Carrolton is a GREAT little shop! Super nice folks, good prices and good selection. Again, super nice employees! I will be going back...

Alright, back at this... I couldn't find a Gen4 G34 at a price I could deal with. Found a great deal on a Gen4 G17 though... I like the way it feels MUCH better than the earlier gens. Now I have some new questions. Will the same trigger kits for the gen3's work with the gen4's? What differs between the gen 3 and 4 17's other than the feel of them?

The gen4 glocks come with a dual recoil spring for softer shooting and a dot connector. I've swapped Gen 3 triggers in Gen 4 glocks with no problem and also a gen 4 trigger bar has a bump on it to align on the drop safety plunger. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Cool. I haven't taken it apart yet to mess with it. Will do that whenever I get a trigger kit. Didn't get home until after dark so I haven't shot it yet to see if I can tell a difference between it and the gen3. Dry fired it a bunch of times and it feels like a Glock...haha

First thing I'd buy for it would be a set of new sights. Some I like are the xs big dot 24/7's, trijicon HD, or red back one 10-8 sights in that order.

the big dots take a little bit to get used to but after you do get used to them they are awesome. By far my favorite sight.
