I have the service size xd9 and the subcompact xd9. Thousands of rounds, no problems. Runs any ammo I put in them. Dirty or clean. Accurate as a defensive pistol needs to be. I'm a fan.

My feelings about XDs are very similar to my feelings on gay marriage.

I called springfield about my xd stainless having a weird bluish stain that developed over time. Wasn't rust, just a discoloration. I didn't expect them to "fix" it, I just wondered what it was. They shipped it to them and back to me on their dime AND I got a new gun case that they mailed it back to me in. They refinished the whole slide.
I have "matured" in my taste for guns. The xd was my first handgun and I still like it but I got it when I didn't even know what a good gun was.

Gosh Guys!! I did not aim to start a peeing contest. I have nothing against Springfield at all. I just couldn't figure out why it had its own forum and it really is not that popular in the handgun world compared to other brands.
