Lone Wolf Conversion?

Post by Bill » Sun Jun 02, 2013 10:05 am

Does anyone have any experience with the lone wolf conversion barrels? I was thinking about getting one for my Glock 23. Just think it would be nice to change barrels and then Shoot a different caliber.

Did you have to change anything other than the barrel? I heard that you might need to change out the spring to reduce tension to accommodate the lesser round.

I have the same setup that DBH has, and I use 9mm magazines, plus the drop in barrel, and thousands of rounds later, it is still flawless. The .40 magazines just would not run reliably with 9mm in them. In the past, I have read where some folks had to change the extractor, too, but I never did that and I've never had extraction or ejection issues.

My G27 is the single most versatile handgun I own. Set up as it is, I can shoot .40, 9mm, or .22LR (using an AA .22 conversion kit).

Do any of the local Louisville gun shops carry those in stock or should I just order from theglockstore.com

I did not change my spring either. Ordered mine direct from Lone Wolf.

I got mine from Lone Wolf Distributing, too. Unlike a lot of OEM makers, they keep their prices in line with their distributors and retailers. Sometimes they pop up on GunBroker, or eBay, or by individual sellers and you can catch a deal on them that way. If you ever think you want to get a suppressor, or want better resale later, get the threaded version with the thread protector.

I have a Storm Lake drop in barrel for the G23 for sale. It is 357 SIG. Comes with a mag, barrel and ammo.
