Glock trigger

Post by Niceguy » Fri May 24, 2013 3:40 pm

I have been Glocked! I picked up a G17 to shoot some GSSF matches and want a lighter MUCH better trigger. I need to know more about the ghost trigger, or any other that anyone else has an opinion on. Not looking for stupid lite, even though I doubt I'll carry it much if any. Just a cleaner, better trigger. A little lighter is fine. Sound off all you Glock guys...

You should very probably talk to GunDoc, he knows more about the 11 gazillion configurations of Glock trick trigger components than anyone else I know or know of. I have all of my Glocks set up with exactly the same components and they are all smooth and consistant, breaking between 3.5 & 4 lbs. This is how I like mine, there are numerous setups and arguments for the merits, and demerits, of each, including the 11 lb NY2 trigger that only Godzilla could use to hit anything. Dean has been shooting Glocks in competitions for a long time and knows every trick there is to wrenching on them. He is also quite reasonable on what he charges to work on them.

Seriously, talk to Dean.

Sounds great, I'll hit him up. Thanks! 3.5-4lbs sounds good for what I'm looking to do with it. I'm looking for nice and smooth and consistent more than lite but I'm fine if I get that too...

I am no expert on Glock triggers, but just a couple parts will yield a better trigger. Get a 3.5# connecter, 6# trigger spring, and do a .25 cent trigger drop(YouTube will show you how). Do these three and it is much better than stock. I've done this to my 17. You can compare mine to yours if you want.

I humbly submit that you might want to fire a few hundred rounds through the gun before you do anything to the trigger.

It's the second Glock I've owned and it sucks balls as much as the first Glock trigger I owned. Put 6-7 mags through it last night and always amazes me how okay I shoot with them as shitty and uncomfortable as they feel...

Anyone know where I may be able to find a Ghost or Lonewolf trigger kit local? Gundoc is taking some time off from smithing and I want to do a little to it before this Tues GSSF match. I need all the help I can get. Shooting steel has been deceiving apparently. I am a Glock target non-shooting mofo! haha

First time I've ever had a auto pistol all the way apart... I installed a Ghost trigger connector and spring kit and did a "25 cent trigger job" while I was in there. Really wasn't bad at all. I dropped the slide putting it back together (thank god it was a Glock and not a gun I like...haha) and the extractor and a pin and spring and firing pin assy and safe plug or whatever it's called all flew out everywhere. Took me a few to get it back correctly. Trigger is MUCH better but it's still just soso. We will see if it helps my Glock shooting ability or lack there of...haha Can't hurt it, that's for damn sure!
