This. If anything they should give a voucher in what MSRP is on the gun or a full refund of purchase price.
Bad PR if you ask me.
I still like their M1A's and 1911's.
XD's, NOT.

Me too! I can't believe any shop would be selling these with this messed up recall in progress. If someone bought it, got hurt or killed, and the shop knowingly sold a defective weapon (every retailer HAS to know about this by now), it would be tantamount to fraud, absolute criminal negligence, & a business nightmare from hell!

That Springfield has no fix and refuses refunds is reprehensible.

That's pretty new. Worse if you consider that old because the recall took too long then IMO.

Well there was a serial number range they fell in remember. I don't know for sure that the range included ALL of the guns but it is possible either it did or didn't .

The fact that they aren't even sure what the problem is makes me think it would be ALL of the pistols

Ditto!
When they first came out I thought "WOW!" Nice concept. Until those words "Made in Croatia" appeared in my hand the day they came into the shop.

They better issue a damn refund. I have a feeling there wil be no used market or these after this. That shit pisses me off. At the end of the day they sold me a defective product and I want a damn refund so I can take my business elsewhere

Look at the XD roots... The HS2000 isn't it? SA hasn't done much to change the service models just introduced M series. They need to up their game as S&W has introduced many varieties of the M&P and even Glock has introduced some new concepts.

All of the XD/XDM/XDS pistols are made in Croatia because the XD was originally a Croatian pistol, the HS2000. The XDS is the first one to have a major problem. I'm guessing something was overlooked or miscalculated in making a .45 pistol that small. That issue carried over to the 9mm because they are esentially identical. I still love my XDM and will still love the XDS when I get it back.

I get that things can happen in pistol design, especially with all of the little bits and pieces that have to work perfectly together. I'm surprised it took this long for a problem like this to rear its head. I'm glad they are fixing them as they should at no cost, I'm just not happy about the way they went about it, especially being lied to. I have no plans to get rid of either pistol, but its something I will remember next time I want a new gun and will knock Springfield Armory down a few notches in my mind.

I'm not asking this to be a dick, its a serious question....what new concepts has glock introduced? I like glocks, but aside from finger grooves and grip textures I couldn't tell you what's different between a gen 1 and a gen 4.

The grip texture would be biggest change in conjunction to the dual recoil springs. The introduction of the back strap system (yes found on the XD-m but not the XD).

Yea that "aplogy" wasnt really anything different than they put on the recall site. So far i have not seen them address anytthing on the fact that they dont have a fix for the problem or the fact that they are refusing refunds.
