Whittaker's usually has a good selection.

They're in West Louisville, about 15 minutes from Owensboro.

They open at 8am, 270-229-0140. Call and ask if they have what you're looking for before you make the drive.

They'll usually hold stuff if they're low on stock or take payment over the phone.

West Louisville, 15 minutes from Owensboro?
Uhhh......I'm thinking not.
More like 10 minutes from Moonlite BBQ.

I can't walk into Whitakers. They have a limited number of CZ452 American rifles available brand new or so I'm told and I have a couple bucks in my pocket.

I've never been to Whitakers. I'm gonna hit a few small LGS and Shooters Supply over in Eddyville and then drive up there.

I totally forgot the Moonlight BBQ. That was the nail in the coffin.

Pistol powder is proving impossible to find.

Not long after posting here my pal calls and there was a gun show over in Hopkinsville he was attending. One guy had powder....lots of powder. Hogdon, Alliant, AA, Norma, Winchester, Imr... all kinds of pistol powder and even more rifle powder. He had just about anything you could want but it wasn't cheap. It ranged from 29 to 35 bux/pound and about the same range per thousand primers depending on what you wanted. I now have primer and powder to load for all my pistol and rifle calibers except I somehow failed to pick up large rifle primers. He was the only guy there with primers and powder. He did offer a 7% discount on a larger purchase like I made.

Whitakers doesn't have any...we checked.

Every Kentucky gun owner is required to make the pilgrimage.

It isn't uncommon for me to walk through a gun store without seeing anything I particularly want. I *always* see something I want there. Last time it was a pimped out Dakota Sharps rifle that was marked down to the low, low price of $6K. Thankfully, I didn't have quite that much money in my pocket.

And yes, they usually have a few CZ 452s in stock.
