New Hauler!

Just sealed the deal on a new truck this morning. 79 F250 with a 400 and a 4 spd. Going to pick it up in a little bit. Seller's pic, will give more detail later.

Son has a year and a bit before he gets his license, should be a great way for him to learn some skills.

I like that. Seen a lifted one at car show yesterday and wanted to take it home. I don't even like trucks but liked it.

So far so good. Runs like a top and cruises on the highway. Already had two people try to buy it.

2wd. Was going to look at a 75 F250 4x4 after meeting up with this guy but told him I'd take it before we got back from the test drive.

It was sort of an impulse buy but it looked too good to pass up. My neighbor wants it but my son says he will work on it if we keep it. He gets first crack at it.

It looks like it spent most of its life on a farm, strictly a work truck. Rust is virtually non existent, I found 4 small spots that need to be addressed: both doors at the rear corners, and the box sides right at the rear bumper. Easy to fix. I don't think it saw a lot of road use or it would have a lot of salt damage.

We are going to start tearing into it tomorrow to learn more. He goes back to work at a camp for the week but we should at least get a better idea of what we are in for.

Rose in many and drove several but never liked them. Never needed one but a few times and I could rent a truck for a few bucks vs living day in and day out with a shitty ride and boring interior. Just my opinion please do not be one of the offended Americans today :llama:

Aaanyway, son got temp gauge working with the help of his sister this morning. Just a bad connection at the sending unit. He's pretty proud of himself, small victories are great. Now he's working on the grill and headlight buckets, they've been dicked with and aren't sitting right.

What good is a forum without posts? I like the truck even being a car/bike guy.

I'm all for posts, especially in response to a thread I started. When a person starts a thread its usually because they have something they want to share with the other members and get some discussion going about it (I assume).

If Rusty was apologizing for a slight derailment, I can't really say too much about that. I know I've been responsible for the odd thread going off the tracks in the past.

I'm just excited that the boy is showing some interest in something other than Minecraft.

Yeah I think he was sorry the focus wasn't 100% on the truck and some people get offended. I don't hang with people that get offended (you don't seem to be sensitive) and traffic on a forum is always good imo. We went off topic for a second (building traffic) and then right back to the truck. It did start a discussion about trucks just as you wanted and all is well. It'll be a badass first car, hell like I said I would drive it and am not even a truck guy.

Haha my biggest problem was when my son asked if could join KAC. It made me think, "What have I posted here that I don't want him to read?"
