99' toyota 4runner... needs engine..

Post by CCRBUM » Fri Mar 20, 2015 10:18 am

Anyone who is mechanic savvy have a ball park idea of what total cost would be for having a new or rebuilt engine put in a 99' 4runner? found one on craigslist for $1500 (I'd offer $1K) says it runs but the engine is knocking... body looks like its in good shape... not seen the interior yet. Trying to figure out if it would be worth the effort if there were no other major issues. Thoughts?

Easily worth the effort if the body and interior are in good shape and the frame doesn't have rust.

Value on it in good shape with around 150k miles is between 4k and 7k depending on where it is sold.

Love my 99 runner
