That's NICE!!

I want one! Too bad I have a little idea about how much time you probably have invested in that thing.

That looks awesome. Looks like a better match to your truck than a lot of store bought I've seen.

Thanks for all the compliments. Weighs 10lb more than stock 88lbs ish. Each recee hitch has 3 1/2" bolts holding them to the frame so it's pretty stout.

I have prolly 30-40 hrs in it but I think I could cut that down alot with proper tools. I literally cut each piece from a flat plate with a kobalt sawzall. Only used two blades.

I have a guy from my work wanting one and I quoted him $600. I will share my design for the rear bumper that will be built later this month I hope.

Yeah. The stock bumpers are pretty heavy.

$600 is a steal. That's a $1000+ bumper anywhere else.

Yeah he is a pretty good customer and refers me to alot of people so I figured give him a decent deal. In lucky for the fact I have a steel warehouse 4 miles from my house that stock everything u could think of 8'x40' sheets of steel if you have a means of moving it once they load it. That allows me to get really good pricing on steel. Also there's really not much material in these bumpers just lots of labor. Here is what is left of a 4x8 sheet. Tape measure is at 8 ft long.

Would be cool if you had a grill guard come off of the hitches , something you could pull 2 pins and replace with big ass hay spikes!

Seriously , thats a bad ass bumper !

Well you read my mind. I plan to have a platform that slides in so I can work on the truck easily, a weight rack for truck pulling, a grill guard, winch mount, ... The two hitch mounts basically give me endless possibilities.

I am always amazed at some of the mad skills some of you all here have with regard to working on cars and making stuff like this. My grandfather had some of the skills but those were born out of necessity to keep his farming stuff working and help sustain food on the table. I love seeing stuff like this.

Pretty cool stuff. Sounds like you need a plasma cutter in place of the sawzall. I always enjoyed doing fab and welding when I was doing car restos. Gave me a real sense of accomplishment when I saw the finished product
