How to plug a tire

Got a badass ride, post it up. Cars, trucks, bikes, trikes, whatever rolls or flies.

How to plug a tire

Figured I'd take some pics while plugged my tire.

Here is the little bastard

Everyone needs a plug kit.

First clean the hole out with the raspy reamer thing.

Get your plugs and rubber cement ready.

Thread the plug into the plug pusher inner thing and cover in rubber cement.

I accidentally pushed it in too far. That's what she said. But seriously only go half way in so the plug tails are poking out.

If you screw up just try again with a new plug. The old one will live inside your tire and mock you.

Let the cement dry the clip the tails.

Done.

After it the adhesive sets up spray with soapy water to check for leaks.. If it still leaks a little super glue while the pressure is down may help it hold.... Not the best way to fox a tire but it works.

I agree. Plus you get to say "First clean out the hole with your reamer."...haha

Plugged many a tire through the years never had one leak and I've never used the cement with it. Good write up, should add you need to use the reamer till it goes in easily

I never use the cement either. I like the orangy/brown plugs the best. Just my preference... I've probably used 100's over the years in quads and cars/trucks.
