I don't know, apparently it is a "who we like" thing to be a KAC member. I have no real understanding on how that is bestowed.

ky you are already a member, hence the gun with KAC logo under your name. For right now it seems they are doing it on their vouch system. Basically if you were a well known member or vip on the former sight you are already adpoted into Member(vip) status here, if you are not well known from the former then 3 members must vouch for you on here for you to become a member. I am assuming they will eventually charge for membership just to cover basic costs, but for now its on the vouch system. Founding fathers or admins correct me if im wrong.

But its not about "who we like"
It's about who we "know"
All you need is for at least 3 people to "vouch" ie know you....
Anyone that wishes to be a Member that isn't currently, don't take it personal.........find 3 members that can vouch for you and that know you and you'll be GTG

Lets see, I was VIP on other side,
had transactions with Blackbird, Geno, gulfdiver, costellow, col. 1981, kysohn, and so on, even had Cranky work on my AR pistol...in the last few months...not sure how you get someone to vouch for you except I had deals with these people and bought and sold and did what I said I would.

I've dealt with several here. SNL being the latest, Next on more than one occassion, Sharp, DannyR, Cmmeur01 (He currently is selling the M&P I sold him), KySawgrass. There are others, but I can't remember them all.
