Looking for a gun safe.
Who has the best prices on a new gun safe and does anyone have a good used gun safe for sale?

I bought mine from dicks. Around holidays they usually run sales on them. If you can wait I would wait until Fathers Day. They will have them discounted. I searched everywhere. Lowes has a few and so does Tractor Supply. Cooks Locksmith on Poplar Level Road has a bunch but they are usually higher prices and better brands. I personally own a 53 gun safe by stack on and I have nothing but praise for it and the company. They go above and beyond what is needed for customer service.

So all in all it is best to just call around, find a good selection and finding the best deal. Also you might be able to find them online but I found out that the shipping cost usually offsets the savings.

I would like to find a good deal on a safe too. What exactly are you looking for in a safe? Is all this fire protection needed? I want something I can store photos, hard drives, guns,money/precious metals, documents, and jewelry and won't get destroyed in a fire or when the fire dept. hoses it off.

I saw a video of a fire safe being sawed through in like 30 seconds. You can youtube it. For how cheap they are I would get one of those for your documents and free up space in a gun safe for valuables and guns.

There is a large selection in a case knife store in radcliff. The store name slips my mind but I'm sure someone here knows it. I think they had some used ones too.

Bashams Lumber/Red Hill Cutlery.

Also someone told me recently of getting a good deal on a Liberty FatBoy Jr. at Shooters Supply.

I was the one that bought the Liberty from Shooters...cash price under a grand out the door...others sell it for $1099-1300+...awesome safe. Don't settle for a cheap safe that only gives you 30 mins of fire protection. It has has bolts on the hinges which many don't. But as someone already posted, unless you're spending over $3000, most every safe can be penetrated with a fire axe. Most good safes only have 10-12 gauge steel...the real expensive ones have 7-8 gauge which an axe can't penetrate. YouTube has many view showing you how many under $3000 can be broken into in under 5 minutes.
Liberty safes are made in the U.S. and the lock mechanism is made in Kentucky...can't go wrong with a Liberty.
