Looking for a car for the granddaughter. Not caring about looks just reliability. I have to keep it under a grand. Must be auto transmission. I know its tough at a grand and under, but that's all I can do right now.
Thanks,
Shortgrub

Re: Cheap transportation
Good luck, brother! I remember, all too well, being in those shoes when my son turned 16.
Having learned to drive in my F-150 Lightning, he seemed to think he was getting one, too.
He had another think coming. I wound up getting him a Nissan pickup, wid a 5 speed (and made him learn how to drive it properly).
Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

Re: Cheap transportation
If you have any mechanical know how at all look on Craigslist for General Motors cars 99 ish with security issues and won't start usually around 500-1000 it's about a 10 min fix and get a reliable car someone else thought was junk me and another guy at work snatch them up pretty regular fix and flip. Even fixed them in the driveway where I bought them.
