Looking For a Few Esee Knives...
I'm looking to purchase a few Esee knives and I don't have much experience with them. If you guys were going to purchase one online, where would you look to get it? I've looked over a few websites that sell them and I can't really decide. I'm sure some of you have purchased several and know where the best buys are for them. Let me know. Thanks in advance.

Re: Looking For a Few Esee Knives...
I've gotten all of mine through BigC on here. Don't know if he's doing that anymore though.

I'm looking at the zancudo folder and the izula. From what I read, the zancudo isn't actually made by esee and don't carry the warranty. I want a folder I can carry daily. What do you guys think? The izula isn't a folder but I like it.

I have a Zancudo that I carry sometimes. It's a good knife and does it's job admirably. I do have one criticism of it, though: when flipping it open using the thumb stud, it's very easy to ride your thumb over the edge, and can draw blood if you're not careful.

Does it hold a good edge? How about the rest of the esee stuff?Wyldman wrote:I have a Zancudo that I carry sometimes. It's a good knife and does it's job admirably. It does take and hold a good edge, as do the rest of the ESEE line.

I have three of the folders (green, black and fde). I like them a lot. Pretty reasonable and decent pocket knife in my opinion. Holds a good edge and I like the feel.1fastmach1 wrote:I'm looking at the zancudo folder and the izula. From what I read, the zancudo isn't actually made by esee and don't carry the warranty. Re: Looking For a Few Esee Knives...
I paid $26 for my Zancudo and use it as my work blade for general cutting tasks. It's an excellent budget blade. It won't be prying much, but that's not what it is for. I found the thumb stud to be all but useless. Out of the box it was one of the sharpest knives I've ever held. It does NOT hold that edge for very long though. Under my uses it had to be touched up every night or every other night. If you use your knife regularly you'll want a double-sided strop with medium and fine compounds.

Thanks for the info about your experience with it. I think I'm gonna go ahead a purchase one. I just don't know what color I want... Decisions decisions...Whootsinator wrote:I paid $26 for my Zancudo and use it as my work blade for general cutting tasks. It's an excellent budget blade. Re: Looking For a Few Esee Knives...
I prefer the regular steel blade. The blackened blade wears pretty easily and the color comes off (I guess thats good if you like that look) which I don't prefer.
Its a fairly inexpensive knife. I have several because I seem to misplace things fairly regularly so I figured also if I lose it its not a big deal .

Re: Looking For a Few Esee Knives...
knifeworks (though I hate to say it) would probably be the best way to go. Since I am not making bulk orders from Blue ridge anymore I cant do very good on pricing and he sells them almost for my wholesale cost (Dave knows BRK pricing) so I dont really mess with it since there is no money in it for me.......

That's the site I was surfing last night. I seemed to have found better deals on eBay because of shipping costs.BIGC wrote:knifeworks (though I hate to say it) would probably be the best way to go. Be very very careful on eBay, there had been a large amount if fake ESEE's on there.. Jeff Randall's forums have noted many fakes being sold on eBay.....

if you meet the requirements, Mil/LE get very nice pricing directly from ESEE.

Unfortunately I don't meet those requirements. I've still been looking as I haven't purchased one yet. I can't decided on which one it is that I want.
