These are called Kuhkris. Used by the Gurkahs with scary success.
Top one is original about a hundred years old.
Bottom one is for tourists.
The cow's hoof cut into blade is kinda sacred and supposedly allowed blood to drain away from users hand.
Quite a history and stories behind these....and they make the BEST camp machetes.

I absolutely love khukruis!

There was a story last year of some 70 year old Gurkha running off a gang of 80 or so thugs with a khukrui.
Good stuff.

That's where I bought mine! I misquoted when I said they were in Pakistan. They make some truly awesome blades, but it takes a while to get them after the order is placed. If I ever need another, I'll be ordering from them again!

Yep, I use mine on my ATV.
Replaced a poorly made Wal-Mart machete.
Great for chopping small trees out of the way.

High carbon steel, able to sharpen to a razor blade edge & when the finish loses a little luster I just run some high grit sand paper to it.

Saw one at Knob Creek....VERY big....labled as muslime divorce knife. I passed and wish I hadn't....only about $49.....novelty mostly.
