I'll be starting my Appalachian Trail thru hike attempt on the 18th of March. If anyone wants to follow me I will be posting most of my updates onto the Facebook page I setup for it. I will try to post some updates here as well.

A couple of my friends have hiked some of the AT. How much of the trail are you covering?

FB page says Springer to Katahdin. That's Ga to Me, a thru hike. 2100+ miles, iirc

Sam's post was a little humble for such a trek.
I have two friends that covered the whole thing but neither did it in a single trip

I have a few buddies that hiked several sections, but not the whole thing. I have another friend who claims to have hiked the whole trail at once. I don't know if he really did, but he is the kind of person who could probably do it. Good luck Sam, on your adventure!

Going to attempt the whole thing starting in Georgia on the 18th. Most I have ever done is a few 3 day trips so this will be a big undertaking to say the least. Really a thru hike is a bunch of 3-4 day hikes consecutively.

Nah I tend to hang my food bag every night out of habit. Working well so far so why change it.
