1 month food supply

Post by justang1997 » Wed Mar 14, 2012 9:26 am

I lived on them once for 8 months. I still love em. I won't touch a few of em tho. Anything with sea food or shrimp in an mre is just wrong. I love the vegitarian ones because they have more "treats". I love the burger, used to be menu number 8 I think. I like the chicken noodles and beef stew too. We had some yellow humanitarian MREs that we handed out. I have a couple at home. They have like 5000 calories and no meat.

When you're hungry, you'll eat whatever you can.
Trust me on that.

I remember eating mre's in boy scouts when I was like 12... I also remember the looks on everyone's faces at basic when I scarfed my mre they gave us the day we shipped down range. I was hungry and it wasn't bad. I miss the little bottles of tobasco sauce...

Mmm mre cheese spread I think everyone loved that stuff. :llama:

One of SFC E. Smith's rules to land combat "you can eat just about anything if you boil it long enough". I freaken love MREs, hell even C and K rations. I never ate one I didn't like. Ate MREs and old school company mess chow for 3 months solid in the dead ass german winter from hell one time. Nothing like squating over a cat hole in a driving sleet/snow storm in minus wind chill while trying to pinch a 3 day MRE log off and keeping a cig lit at the same time Epic.

Tyler- did you ever order/try these? I'm thinking about ordering one, curious about taste and how well everything's packaged.

I haven't eaten any of it yet. The first bucket I received had a couple of bags poorly sealed. Costco took it back without question. The others have been fine.
