"Unlocking" will allow it to work on either network, however I'm not sure exactly how to accomplish that. Perhaps someone more "tech savvy" could chime in.

You need to request the unlock from Verizon. But it will only work on the lte4 network. Once unlocked it work on cdma networks like Verizon or sprint. You need a gsm phone for AT&T or T-Mobile.

Thanks for clarifying that - I thought unlocked meant either network would work. Is "jailbreaking" the same as "unlocked", or is that something completely different?

Jail braking the phone is access parts of the phone for programs and techs.

Unlocking is allowing it on other networks. There are 2 major networking in the us cdma and gsm. That requires the hardware in the phone for one network or the other.

huh...I called T-Mobile just last week and asked if an unlocked Sprint phone would work, and the lady said 'yes, any unlocked phone will work'.

-because I always thought the same thing, about the 2 different 'frequencies'.

All 3 phones still available. I decided to get the screen replaced on the 256gb 7PLUS and I will likely keep it as a spare, however if you wanted it, Id let that one go for $375 and just keep a 7 as a spare.
