Buy: Small tractor

Post by Toecutter1978 » Tue May 18, 2021 8:00 am

If anybody knows of a small tractor for sale, around the size of a Case 444 (just using that for size) or even that would do. I am in the market.

I have been scouring tractorhouse and yesterdaytractor and a couple other sites and coming up snakes eyes.

Implements included would be awesome, but not necessary. Hydraulic a plus, 3point is definitely fine, or capable to be installed.

I have some presidents that want to meet their new buddy.

What are you looking to do with this tractor and how much are you looking to spend?

Saw a nice old Kubota on FB Marketplace the other day. Once you weed through all the scams, you can actually find what you need.

Well I have that field to the side to cut. Then pull up rock, logs, and other things I could use a small tug job for.

I am wanting to stay under 3grand, anymore than that then I might as well be looking into newish territory.

There's what appears to be a decent international in about the size you're looking for right around the corner from you. From your house take a left on coral ridge. It's on the right before you get to the RR crossing. Looks like it has a belly mower.

If all your doing is mowing and light tugging, an older, larger tractors are easier to work on. But you won't get the range of implements you might want.

Ok I will go look. I remember one before I looked at but it is gone before I could get my trailer.

I want to be able to slap a PTO on it to be able to dig fence post.

I have a massey 231. It's 38hp Perkins diesel. It will run a 6' bush hog, 6' mower or a post hole digger if I had one. I don't use it for too much mowing now that I bought a zero turn, but the utility is nice to have. A pull behind mower would be kind of a pain on a small property. A belly mower on a smaller tractor would be more convenient if mowing is your primary use.

Pull behind sucks unless you have flat, straight acreage.
I'd recommend a belly cutter like Marcus said.
