S&W 3000 12Ga

Post by Niceguy » Mon Dec 31, 2012 2:02 pm

18 1/2 barrel. All stock with dark wood. Looks good but it is a used gun so does have a few nicks and scratches. My understanding is it's an 870 knockoff. Some things swap, some don't. Receiver look identical to my 870. Tube extension or cap from 870 is a different thread so that doesn't swap. Not sure of anything else. $210

It's whatever legal is. I just couldn't remember the length and I'm not at home to measure it.

They are basically a metric 870 made in Japan by Howa for Smith and Wesson. A lot of police departments back in the day used these due too the lower cost vs a 870. The 3000 Smith was later replaced with another model (can't remember the model) which was also built by Howa but was very problematic.

For anyone reading this and shitting bricks after measuring theirs, I just checked and in Kentucky and most semi-free states (:llama) it is 18" from breech to muzzle. This one is 18 1/8th".
