is it just me or does the serial number and UNITED STATES lettering look like it was put on by a monkey?

Is that original finish on it? I would like to own it but out of my budget currently. looks to be in great shape for a 1944 manufactured pistol. GLWS

I highly doubt it’s the original finish on it. I’m currently accepting reasonable offers. I found a Ballester Molina that I want!

And the barrel is not original, would just be marked with P

light strike of the crossed cannons symbol would indicate buffing to refinish

Seems like maybe someone strengthened the numbers of the Serial # and lettering due to the use and buffing maybe

still a good shooter I bet. Wish I had it.
