You could always cut the barrel of a standard size Mosin of course ;)

Just have to keep the barrel 16" or more with the overall length of rifle no less than 26". Barrel can be less than 16 IF a permanently attached muzzle device extends it out to 16 or beyond. Fail to meet these rules you enter tax stamp land. BTW: Min length on shotguns barrels is 18"
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Yeps, if you're in the US. Overhere minimum barrel length is 12" with a minimum overall length of the rifle being 24" :D Then again, we can only have 5 firearms on our license so buying something just for the heck of it is not really handy...

If Kygunco in bardstown has the sale they usually put on a few times a year they can be had for under a hundred. About 2 years ago i walked out with a 91/30 for $75 out the door.

Along with the $70 SKSs.
