How is the quality on something like that? Hate to go through the red tape and it sucks. Seems about the same cost as other cans. What is the advantage besides less wait?

Quality seems on par or better than some of the lower end cans. I'm sure better than garbage like Huntertown Arms. The wait time is the biggest plus to me.

It has to be designated one or the other on the form 1 and inscribed on the tube. You can’t have both adapters because once a round is fired, it is considered completed and a change in configuration would have to go through a flat/SOT07 if I recall correctly. That is, of course, you talk about it in public forums
I was wondering because I was hoping to have one can fits all for what I had but that ain't doable I see.
So it's one can for each caliber then. Right?

There’s tons of mounting options that would work. I didn’t look at the kit you were talking about. If it has an end cap and just muzzle devices the have external threads that match you end cap , you could file for a 30cal and use it on a 223
You won’t get nearly as good sound suppression with a 223 through a 30 cal can as if you had one designated for each caliber

I did a efile Form1 this summer and built a rimfire can using an XRT Tactical kit. The approval actually came thru faster than the kit did. It’s super high quality (although it does have aluminum end caps) and is every bit as quiet as my commercial can.

This. Anything super sonic still makes a crack but will be noticeably quieter than without the can, anything sub sonic will be VERY quiet. With my .22 can and subs the only thing i hear is the click of the firing pin and the round hitting the target.
