make your trust name as short as possible; engraving costs per letter! Your last name + trust is best, like Smith Trust.

unless your last name is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Your serial number and model can be anything you want. If it's not already on the drop down menu, it has to be submitted for approval which ads to the time it takes to get approval.
I have just paid a flat fee for the engraving. I guess that all depends on who you use.

That what is need for engraving or stamping.

The engraving /stamping needs to be 1/16 tall by .003 inch deep

Unless law has changed etching is not a legal method. I have a commercial unit that I use and it will not etch to required depth.

Stamping , cast or engraved are the only methods in the law.

Edit update
Other FFLs agree that if it meets depth and size it is legal.

Laws must of changed. I asked the experts on their site and they said as long as it meets BATFE requirements than its good to go.
