2 years ago I decided I wanted a 1911 and an AR. Now have 2 1911s and 2 ARs. This year I decided to take a ride on the suppressor train. Next year? Who knows?

Picked up my first suppressor last Wednesday. Approval took exactly 17 weeks (e-filed on 3/18).
Fired 50 rounds of CCI std. velocity thru it today with my Ruger MKII pistol. I am hooked for life.

Anything through the pistol is about the same. The standards and subs make all the difference in the world in a rifle though.

I have been shooting CCI std velocity ammo in the Ruger pistol suppressed. Only hear a soft pop, then bullet hitting the target. Sounds like a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun. I picked up my Marlin XT-22 rifle from Cranky last Wednesday after getting barrel threaded. Shooting CCI std velocity ammo suppressed thru it is stupid quiet. I hear the firing pin hit, then bullet striking the target. Nothing else. Now I need to get a scope mounted on the Marlin and do some midnight plinking.

It is crazy fun, that "tink-plop" instead of a loud "bang!".

This suppressor business is all new stuff to me in my little world. Am I correct in thinking you need one permit per suppressor, one suppressor per caliber, but you can use them on as many weapons as are threaded to accomondate each suppressor? In other words, if I have a legal, permitted suppressor set up for a 22 caliber pistol, I can also legally use it on a properly threaded 22 cal. rifle?

Not permit, tax stamp (@ $200/ea). A large caliber suppressor will usually work for that caliber and smaller, I use a .30 cal can for my .308 & .223 rifles, and a .45 cal can for my handguns (except for .22lr, which because of it filthy nature, needs to be a user servicable, dedicated can). Any .22 can can be used on either rifle or pistol, w/o issues.

Form 4s (trust) submitted 5/16-8/13/2014 are being approved now. That is a 2 1/2-5 1/2 month wait. I could possibly get my 2nd one approved in the next month or 2.

2nd can is group buy HTA Guardian 22. I will have can for rifle and can for pistol, both already threaded. But my grandson has a Crickett rifle. Hmmm

I just got my Form 1 back for my SBS mailed the last week of March. 7 months, I was prepared for a longer wait.
I was only going to build one...

Well here we go again. I ordered a AAC Ti-Rant 45 suppressor today from SilencerShop. Spyderarms will be doing the transfer since he is only 15 minutes from my house. This will be #3.

I have one in wait from SilencerShop also. A Octane45. Seem like some pretty good folks to deal with.
