Do u answer the door w/ gun in hand or on your person?

Post by Rem700 » Wed Jan 02, 2013 9:49 am

I know we have all seen the stories about home owners being shot by police because they answered the door armed, but here is a perfect example of why you should not open the door for anyone you dont know and to always be on the offensive.

I normally don't answer the door. Everyone we know knows how to get me to answer the door. If you don't know then I'm not answering. I'll let my dogs bark and attack the front window like they are going to kill you instead.

I have two front doors. I can open the main door and still have a locked glass door between us. Your not going to get through that door faster than I can get to a gun and kill you so I'm not too worried about it.

But then again I don't answer for unknown people either. Sometimes I just sit back and wonder if they will be stupid enough to try to break in to their demise!

Always do if I decide to open the door. Most of the time I won't answer.

I got a moat I know that sounds funny but I have a huge creek/ditch that seperates my property from the road, my driveway is the only way across and my front window has a clear line of sights. In short I know when someone is comeing to the door long before they ever get here. Guns are laying all over my house you can step more then 3 steps and not be in reach of a fire arm , even still I carry one on my hip while at home,. right now as a matter of fact.

Trying to break in here would be like scene out of the movie Wrong Turn mixed with the man rape from deliverance with a run time measured in days not minutes.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I don't open the door if it's someone I don't know unless I'm armed. My wife on theory her hand is way to trusting. I'm working on that.

Me too. Especially for Jehovah's witnesses. I thought it would keep her from coming back, but instead she came back once a week and usually brought a friend. :D

A local elected official looked a bit shocked when He came ringing doorbells late last year campaigning. I was painting the back of the house and answered the door covered in paint with the XDM hanging off my belt

I leave it in the holster but untuck and have my hand on it.

Unless I see that it's the johava's witness guys. Then I usually have it in hand. They don't know what I'm not interested means.

I hate watching movies as it seems even in the middle of gun fights there are guys that rack their weapons like they were empty.
