Dick' will destroy assault-style rifles pulled from shelves

Living up to their name

“We are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change,” a spokeswoman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “We are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.”

The so-called assault-style rifles will be destroyed at the company’s distribution centers and the parts sent to a salvage company to be recycled, the Findlay-based retailer added. The company did not say how much merchandise would be included.

One of the guys from work had a second job there. He quit after they announced 5he ban on "assault rifles".

I'm sure the shareholders are loving this. They probably could have easily sold the guns & parts back to the manufacturers since the manufactures would then have relatively no problem selling them to other retailers with a mini panic going on. But no, they decide to destroy it instead thus piss away the money.

Feelings of people who don't play sports or really any outdoor activities where competitiveness is involved are more important than making money at a business with the actual target consumer we exist for.

It’s their money and they are free to light it on fire. Glad I don’t own stock in them and haven’t spent a dime in one in many many years.

It’s funny because they “got rid of” the AR15’s back after Sandy Hook. But here they are being hypocrites. Wonder how long before they start stocking the shelves with the.....again.

They just want to stay in the news somehow and be relevant to the folks that think it's a great idea.

They might as well start stocking grass water and vegan tofu buttplugs.

They're probably not selling any with the prices dropping and they don't lower theirs. They might be keeping them to bring back out when prices go up.
