Scarry to think. This could of been anywhere. I've been wondering for a long time why something like this hasn't happened already

Looks like somehow my previous reply to this got deleted.

Terrorists are not smart. Sometimes there is a mastermind that is but if I have said since waaaay before 9-11 that if someone wanted to do in a lot of people, the best chances were at like going to a big sporting event like superbowl or derby or a crowded movie premiere or a mall at Christmas and start throwing bombs and such. Or driving a gas filled (or whatever) vehicle possible or even airplane dive into large crowd of people. As this showed you could easily take out 100 or more people if planned right.

Not ever sure why these idiots go in and shoot up a business or something and kill 4 when, if they are out to wreck havoc, could do a lot more easily.

BreakingFifty injured 'between life and death' - Hollande

President Francois Hollande says 50 people injured in the Bastille day attack in Nice are now "between life and death" - in addition to the 84 known to have died.

Local reports have named the attacker as 31-year-old Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel.

Mohamed Bouhlal belongs to a family who resides in Msakin near the city of Sousse, a Tunisian security source told BBC Arabic, on condition of anonymity.

Bouhlal’s parents are divorced and they live in France.

Mohamed used to frequently visit Tunisia, the source added, saying the last time was eight months ago, before he went back to France.

The 31-year-old, said to have been married with three children, was not known by the Tunisian authorities to have been involved in any terrorism activities on Tunisian soil.

However, he was known by to the authorities in connection with drugs and alcohol-related offences.

Earlier, the Tunisian government issued a statement condemning the attack "in the strongest possible terms".

"Tunisia stands by France in its fight against terrorism and supports any measure taken by the French government to protect its territory and the security of its citizens and visitors," the statement said.

Relatives say a father and son from Texas are among the victims of the deadly truck attack in Nice.

Family friend Jess Davis says 51-year-old Sean Copeland and his 11-year-old son Brodie were killed Thursday evening in what French authorities have described as a terror attack.

Davis released a statement Friday on behalf of the Copeland family, saying they are "heartbroken and in shock."

State Department spokesman John Kirby said earlier that two Americans were killed, but didn't identify them citing privacy.

Davis says the Copelands, from Lakeway, were on a European vacation that began in Spain.

French prosecutor Francois Molins has also confirmed other details:

He said the lorry was rented on 11 July, and was due back on the 13th
Inside the cabin, there were automatic fire weapons, two Kalashnikov rifles, bullets and a grenade. Earlier reports had suggested the weapons were fakes
A mobile phone, a driver's licence and bank details were also found
The lorry was a 19-tonne vehicle
