And another
BREAKING GUN SENSE VICTORY: The U.S. House of Reps just passed #HR1112, legislation that would address the Charleston loophole (the loophole that allows licensed dealers to sell a gun after three business days even if a background check has not been completed)! #EndGunViolence
— Moms Demand Action (@MomsDemand) February 28, 2019
This deadly loophole enabled the hate-filled man who carried out the mass shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston to obtain a gun. Passing this legislation is important for public safety and honors the victims and survivors of the Charleston church shooting. #HR1112

THEY DID IT!!! The bill to address the Charleston loophole, HR 1112, just passed the US House! Thank you to @RepCunningham and @WhipClyburn, and to South Carolina @MomsDemand volunteers, and volunteers nationwide, who worked to get Congress to vote for this bill. #endgunviolence pic.twitter.com/acf8rMv8c9

Looks like Florida has been trying to gather the herd and ban all semi automatic firearms.
No link, just heard the story on the way home. All the northern transplant politicians are pushing the ban called BAWN.

Last month, Rep. Ted Deutch, civilian disarmament advocate and Florida Man extraordinaire, introduced HR 1263 in the US House of Representatives. The bill would amend the internal revenue code to bring any “semiautomatic rifle or shotgun that has the capacity to accept a detachable ammunition feeding device” under NFA regulation.
Any person who, on the date of the enactment of this Act, lawfully owns or possesses a semiautomatic rifle or shotgun (as defined in section 5845(a) of such Code, as amended by this Act) that has the capacity to accept a detachable ammunition feeding device (as defined in such section) shall, not later than 120 days after the date of enactment of this Act, register the semiautomatic rifle or shotgun in accordance with section 5841 of such Code. Such registration shall become a part of the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record required to be maintained by such section. The prohibition on possession of an unregistered firearm under section 5861 of such Code shall not apply to possession of such a semiautomatic rifle or shotgun that has the capacity to accept such a detachable ammunition feeding device on any date that is 120 days or less after the enactment of this Act.

An effort to close what bill’s supporters term the “ammo loophole” would make mandatory background checks the nationwide norm for ammunition sales.

Under measures proposed in the House by Florida’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Senate by Connecticut’s Richard Blumenthal, would-be ammunition buyers would have to be first vetted by the FBI’s National Instant Background Check System. The lawmakers, allied with national gun control groups, say the move to add controls to bullet sales would help save lives.

Looks like Pittsburgh is trying to go full left coast on gun control

Pittsburgh City Council Defies State Preemption, Sends Gun Control to Mayor
https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2019/ ... -to-mayor/
The legislation places restrictions on military-style assault weapons like the AR-15 rifle that authorities say was used in the Oct. 27 rampage at Tree of Life Synagogue that killed 11 and wounded seven. It also bans most uses of armor-piercing ammunition and high-capacity magazines, and allows the temporary seizure of guns from people who are determined to be a danger to themselves or others.
Seems like they're trying to get around Pennsylvania's Preemption law by banning the use of, not the possession of "assault" weapons.
Of course how are they defining "assault" weapon?
§ 1102.02 PROHIBITION ON USE OF ASSAULT WEAPONS

A. It shall be unlawful to use any assault weapon in any public place within the City of Pittsburgh.

B. For purposes of this Section, "public place" shall include streets, parks, open spaces, public buildings, public accommodations, businesses and other locations to which the general public has a right to resort, but does not include a private home or residence or any duly established site for the sale or transfer of firearms or for firearm training, practice or competition.

C. For purposes of this Section, "use" of an assault weapon does not include possession, ownership, transportation or transfer. "Use" of an assault weapon shall include, but is not limited to:

1. Discharging or attempting to discharge an assault weapon;

2. Loading an assault weapon with ammunition;

3. Brandishing an assault weapon;

4. Displaying a loaded assault weapon;

5. Pointing an assault weapon at any person; and

6. Employing an assault weapon for any purpose prohibited by the laws of Pennsylvania or of the United States.

D. For purposes of this Section, there shall be a rebuttable presumption that an assault weapon is loaded if fitted with a magazine.

In response to a motion from the California Department of Justice, US District Court Judge Roger Benitez, who issued a permanent injunction against enforcement of California’s “high capacity” magazine ban, has just issued a stay of his own injunction. That means that the window for ordering standard capacity magazines is closing.

His order goes into effect at 5:00pm Pacific time on Friday, April 5. You can read the full order here, but this is the relevant portion:
The ban on possession of “high capacity” magazines will not be enforced while the case is argued and decided, but California residents will not be able to buy them after 5:00pm tomorrow.

Another screw over the law abiding while actually doing zip for crime proposal
Mr. Murphy, a Democrat, has proposed fees that would be among the highest in the country. An identification card would cost $100, an owner’s permit would be $50 and a carry permit $400.
Besides raising fees on gun ownership, Mr. Murphy is also seeking an ammunition excise tax of 10 percent and a firearms excise tax of 2.5 percent. His proposals are part of the state budget, which the Legislature must pass by June 30.
