To be fair, I've also seen conservatives getting their panties in a twist because the WW comic was originally based in WWII and she was helping the US kill Nazis and the movie is set in WWI and doesn't have anything to do with the US.

Then that's pretty stupid too IMHO.
The movie taking place in WW-I doesn't bother me at all as long as they stay true to the character. Think about it, if she started in I then by extension she should also have fought in II.

Besides, I think WW-I has been way too ignored by Hollywierd the past 70 or so years and who else here wants to see Fokker Eindeckers?

Note: I haven't see the movie, just the trailers but the Enideckers shown in the trailers being operational would place the movie in the mid 1915 to early to mid 1916 time period. The USA didn't enter the war until 1917.
