I think we have our knuckleheads of the year already
I'm totally amazed they're still above room temperature right now.

Their video can be found at the link

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/pos ... 8ce9b283e9
As the two men approached a police station in Dearborn, Mich., on Sunday, one of them looked into the camera he was holding and explained — via Facebook Live — what their intentions were.

They claimed to have been illegally pulled over about an hour earlier and wanted to file a complaint, said James Baker, wearing a dark balaclava over his face.

Next to him, his friend Brandon Vreeland — toting a camera on a tripod — agreed “100 percent.”

Baker turned the camera back toward himself to more clearly reveal a rifle slung across his chest, body armor and a GoPro camera attached to his left shoulder.

“We felt a little afraid for our lives when we were pulled over,” Baker said, “so we figure we better protect ourselves.”

The pair — who describe themselves as open-carry advocates and frequently post videos of their interactions with police — entered the station and walked through another set of doors. Within seconds, a cacophony of shouts echoed throughout the lobby.

“Dude, put that on the ground!” someone can be heard yelling. “Put it on the ground!”

The camera captured two officers at the end of a hallway, appearing to point their weapons at Baker and Vreeland. Soon after, the video cut off, but the phone continued to record the chaotic scene unfolding.

“Put it on the ground or you are dead!” an officer bellows. “I will shoot you! I will put a round in you, sir! Put that rifle on the ground!”

“What the hell’s the matter with you?” another officer demands.

Amid the upheaval, Baker’s voice protested: “It’s all legal, sir.”

[Ambushes and fatal shootings fuel increase in police death toll in 2016]

Shortly after the incident, both Baker, 24, and Vreeland, 40, were arrested at the station on Sunday, police said.

Officers seized a loaded AP-14 firearm, a rifle magazine containing 47 rounds, a loaded Glock 19 handgun with four additional magazines containing 66 rounds, body armor and ballistic vests, the ski mask, a gun belt, several pieces of camera equipment, an AR-15 rifle and an AK-47 style rifle, according to the Dearborn Police Department.

“I find this behavior totally unacceptable and irresponsible,” Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement. “This is not a Second Amendment issue for me. We had members of the public in our lobby that fled in fear for their safety as these men entered our building.”

Haddad added that the president of Michigan Open Carry, a group that advocates for lawful open carry of a holstered handgun in the state, had also called him in support of the police. Later that day, the group issued a statement to say it “in no way supports” the conduct by Baker and Vreeland.

“It is our belief that their actions were reckless and primarily designed to draw attention and a response,” the advocacy group said. “There is a clear difference between the everyday protection we advocate for and the attention-seeking actions of these individuals. Wearing a mask, dark glasses, visible body armor, and a rifle slung across your chest instills a very specific image that cannot be ignored.”

There is no law in Michigan that states it is legal to openly carry a firearm; there is also no law that prohibits it. However, state law does limit the premises on which a person may carry a firearm. A memo from the Michigan state police notes that it is legal for a person to carry a firearm in public “as long as the person is carrying the firearm with lawful intent and the firearm is not concealed.”

“Like it or not, exercising your rights is not black and white,” Michigan Open Carry President Tom Lambert said in a statement. “How you act and portray yourself is a big part of advocacy. I believe these gentlemen failed in this regard.”

Both men are free on $1,500 bonds, police said.

[In Jim Cooley’s open-carry America, even a trip to Walmart can require an AR-15]

Neither Baker nor Vreeland responded immediately to requests for comment Tuesday morning.

Dearborn police had stopped the pair earlier Sunday at a shopping center “to investigate a report of two suspicious men in a vehicle wearing tactical vests and masks.”

“A short time later a Dearborn police sergeant on a patrol observed the subjects’ occupied vehicle in a park approximately three miles away,” police said in a statement. “The sergeant conducted a traffic stop to investigate further.”

Baker told MLive.com Monday that police had “invited” him to file a complaint at the station when they were stopped earlier.

“There were about 10 seconds when I thought I was going to die,” Baker told the news site, of the encounter at the police station.

On his Facebook page, Baker said he is “currently facing three misdemeanor charges [and] had $4k in property stolen.” The Detroit Free Press reported his charges as breaching the peace, failure to cooperate with police and masking his identity by obscuring his face in the station.

“I refuse to ask for money, but it is certainly needed,” Baker wrote, before adding he would accept donations in bitcoins or other cryptocurrency.

“But the fight goes on in any event. We’ve been doing this for a few years now, but I know my 24-year-old a — is only just getting f—ing started,” Baker wrote on Facebook. “The fight for true liberty is eternal, because perfect freedom and harmony is an asymptote, and you all and I have a lot of work to do.”

Vreeland’s charges were breaching the peace, obstructing police and failure to cooperate, according to the Detroit Free Press. He told the newspaper Monday that they regularly “audit” police and upload videos of such interactions.

“We audit police to see how well they honor the Constitution and people’s rights,” Vreeland told the newspaper. “We showcase police abuse and abuse of police power in the totalitarian police state that we live in.”

I know, just because something is stupid doesn't mean it's illegal. But idiots like this is the reason my lawn mower had a sticker that read "Do not use as a hedge trimmer". It's not illegal to use it as a hedge trimmer but it sure would be stupid to attempt to do so. And you know someone some where is walking around missing a few fingers because they thought it would be a bright idea to try.

WA College Helps Parents ‘Cure’ Their Toddlers of Racism and Sexism
http://heatst.com/politics/evergreen-st ... ng-biases/
Have you ever asked yourself why your baby is so darn racist?

If so, you may want to sign up for Evergreen College’s upcoming event, “A is for Anti-Bias,” a workshop to help teach parents how to head off discriminatory, sexist, misogynistic and gender-normative behavior in toddlers before its too late.

The workshop, for parents of children aged 3-6, includes a presentation, handouts, group activities, and homework that will help you cure your young children of any attachment they have to rational thought. That way, they don’t have to wait until college to find out that their ideas about race and gender are outdated.

The class is taught by a grad student who, according to the event page, is “engaged in education initiatives focused on inclusion and equity.”

The event itself is sponsored by an organization called, “Teaching for Change,” says they are dedicated to a national conversation about toddler biases, and are working to craft “an approach to early childhood education that sets forth values-based principles and methodology in support of respecting and embracing differences and acting against bias and unfairness.”

If you can’t get to Evergreen College’s class, Teaching for Change holds workshops across the country for both parents and educators. And there are plenty of at-home resources available on their website to help combat baby racism and sexism where it lives.

There is even a set of lesson plans to help you, the parent, teach your child how to build an active resistance to the Trump Administration’s agenda.

“Since the election, student protests across the country against bigotry and injustice have been inspiring, the site’s guide to teachers and parents reads. “Now students need the opportunity to learn the history of people’s movements in order to deepen their protests into organizing that can win real change.”

Much of the Teaching for Change project’s resources are provided by Howard Zinn and his Zinn Education project, well known for providing “alternative history” texts beloved by campus social justice warriors, so it’s basically a vicious cycle.

University of Washington Writing Guru Declares American Grammar ‘Racist’
http://heatst.com/culture-wars/universi ... nd-unjust/
The chief writing instructor at the University of Washington, Tacoma, is trying to dismantle the rules of grammar because he believes they are racist—and the college has given its endorsement to his campaign.

Posters that appeared this week in the college’s writing center are part of a new effort to teach students that the conventional rules on how to structure sentences and form ideas in written language are perpetuating inequality and “white supremacy.”

“Racism is the normal condition of things. Racism is pervasive. It is in the systems, structures, rules, languages, expectations and guidelines that make up our classes, school, and society,” the poster claims. It goes on to say that critiquing a student’s use of language, or implying that there is any one grammatical standard within the English language, is inherently discriminatory.

The writing center director, Dr. Asao Inoue, is the brains behind the operation to up-end students’ regressive notions of language. He is a “searcher of anti-racist writing assessment,” according to his Twitter profile, and has published two books on how to promote a “socially just future” by dismantling academic structures that reward proper grammar and usage.

The University of Washington did not immediately respond to Heat Street‘s request for comment, but vice chancellor of student affairs, Dr. Jill Purdy, noted in her own official statement that the program “is a great example of how we are striving to act against racism. Language is the bridge between ideas and action, so how we use words has a lot of influence on what we think and do.”

Grammar, according to the posters in the writing center, can “justify placing people in hierarchies or restricting opportunities and privileges because of the way people communicate in particular versions of English.”

To solve the problem, the program intends to help students become aware of “social justice” issues in their everyday life, and to help them “check their privileges”—particularly those that result in unconscious racism.

They also appear to say that they will not deduct from grades—even in English classes in an English department—for failing to use proper grammar. “We promise to emphasize the importance of rhetorical situations over grammatical ‘correctness’ in the production of texts,” a “commitment” on the poster reads. “We promise to challenge conventional word choices and writing explanations.”

Inoue also holds seminars on how to identify and correct “white supremacy” in grading writing assignments; self-help workshops for actual (yet self-identified) grammar Nazis.

His tolerance does have a limit, though. He really does not like Donald Trump.

So.... "acting against racism" is now the mission for this, and probably other, university?!? Everything that is going on in the SJW mindset is self-defeating. I just don't get it. The students are being robbed, literally and figuratively, of a proper education. Being in Washington state though, this is probably very widely accepted by the coffee shop hipsters. So much fail in that story.

This is absolutely true, though I see this is a positive... not racist. If people can't learn to talk and communicate correctly, then ALL systems falls apart. How do these people think it would be when the police department shows up and starts talking like " y'all mofoc get yo lazy ass back n yo welf air hauzes n shytz.
